Beauty School - Happiness [Digital]

Shaped by the Leeds music scene, lifelong friendships and inspirations ranging from Fireworks to Phoenix to American Football, Beauty School have created a bright anthemic rock sound that shines throughout, illuminating a profound lyricism that brings a whole album's worth of stories to life. Concerned with resolution and recovery, Beauty School worked with James Kenosha (Dinosaur Pile-Up, Pulled Apart By Horses, Marmozets) to produce “Happiness”, their debut album, and the result is fantastic: optimistic midwest emo from the North of England. Speaking on the album, Joe Cabrera says “Happiness is just a collection of songs that we wrote, but it feels like much more to us. We are really proud of this record and sharing it feels like the end of a long difficult journey yet at the same time the start of another exciting journey. Writing this album was our purpose whilst we were stuck inside for more than a year. When there’s nowhere to go, no shows to play, no one to see, you have to create your own happiness. So that’s what we did.”
